1. Auto1: This is an espresso mode. Place cup on scale and time/weight will auto-tare and timer starts counting up.
2. Auto2: This is the second espresso mode. Place cup on scale and time/weight will auto-tare, start espresso machine and press orange timer button and scale timer starts. Remove cup and time and weight go back to zero.
3. Auto3: Place cup on scale, will auto tare. This is for espresso machines with built-in timers.
4. Auto4: Place cup on scale, will auto tare. When espresso hits the cup, timer starts automatically, weight is displayed.
5. Hand1: This is a pour-over mode. Place the brew vessel onto the scale and weight goes to zero. Add coffee grounds into the vessel and after 3 seconds weight goes to zero. Once water is added, weight and timer will start. Remove brew vessel, both weight and time will go back to zero.
6. Hand2: This is a manual pour-over mode. User tares and starts timer.

This grinder has conical ceramic burrs with a stainless steel housing, making it more resilient than glass versions, and produces less static than plastics. Not only does it stay sharper for much longer than steel burrs, it is also easy to clean and keep.

From our testing, it copes well with everything you can throw at it - from Turkish to French Press grind setting - and thanks to a easily accessible locking nut, is really easy to adjust. But the thing that really sets this apart from other hand grinders is the speed and ease of grind.

This is down to a couple of features: a long steel handle that connects solidly to the grinder and the ability to hold the grinder steadily in one hand while turning the handle with the other.
